Sharon Dawn Smith

Sharon Smith, 87, of Columbia, Missouri, passed away peacefully on May 14, 2025.
She was born on February 2, 1938, in Elma, Washington, to William Allie and LaVaughn Anderson. Sharon retired from University Hospital, where she worked as a food and nutrition secretary. She was known for her warm spirit, love of life, and quick wit.
Sharon found joy in many hobbies throughout her life. She loved playing golf, bingo, shuffleboard, and cribbage, and she rarely missed a chance to complete a crossword puzzle. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary with the Eagles Lodge and also enjoyed relaxing with a glass of Les Bourgeois Riverboat Red wine.
Sharon is survived by her children: Linda (Red) Creason, Bobby (Joyce) Smith, Marty (Victoria) Smith, and Tracy (Bill) Grindstaff; 10 grandchildren: Casey, Jason, Ashley, Brian, Scott, Cheyenne, Nicholle, Aaron, Jeremy, and Kyle; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter, Addison Marie Cunningham.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dean Smith; her parents; her sister Shirley; and her grandson, Lucus Grindstaff.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, May 19, 2025 at 12:30pm Memorial Park Cemetery 1217 Business Loop 70 W, Columbia, MO 65202. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
