Wilbur Calicott of Columbia, Missouri, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2025, at the age of 91. Born January 22, 1934, to Wilbur Magee Calicott and Ruby Lee Hill, Wilbur's life was defined by hard work, quiet strength, and deep love for his family.
A proud graduate of Moberly High School and Moberly Area Community College, Wilbur built a successful career rooted in dedication and service. He worked with the Renick School District and Wick Homes before becoming a business owner, founding both Rainbow International and Pro Clean Carpet Care. Through his work, Wilbur earned a reputation for honesty, craftsmanship, and genuine care for his community.
Wilbur honorably served his country in the United States Navy as an Electrician's Mate First Class, serving aboard the USS Sperry, USS Bushnell, and USS Taluga. His time in the Navy reflected the same sense of duty and precision that guided him throughout his life.
In March of 1977, Wilbur married the love of his life, Juanita Gertrude Dickerson, daughter of Bill and Julia Dickerson. Together they shared nearly five decades of laughter, love, and family.
Outside of work, Wilbur was happiest when surrounded by the people and pastimes he loved. He played men's slow-pitch softball for many years, coached Little League baseball, enjoyed shooting hoops in the driveway, and rarely missed a chance to cheer on his beloved St. Louis Cardinals.
He is survived by his children David Allen Calicott, Janice Lee Calicott, Michael Dean Calicott, Angela Marie Calicott, and Lee Tyler Magee Calicott, along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, and friends who will cherish his memory.
A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Nilson Funeral Home in Columbia, Missouri.
