Sharon Twombly Obituary
HIAWATHA, KS Sharon L. Twombly, of Hiawatha, with family by her side, passed away November 26, 2023 at Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka. She was 71.
Sharon was born at Highland, October 31, 1952, the third of eight children born to Frank and Beverly Alfrey Lentz and had lived nearly all of her life in the Doniphan-Brown County area. She grew up at Iowa Point, attended Highland schools, graduating from Highland High School with the class of 1970. Sharon attended and graduated nurses training at Vo-Tech with as an LPN. Through the years, she worked in hospitals in St. Joseph and Kansas City area until retiring several years ago due to declining health.
Survivors include her children: Jason Jundy (Jamie), Chrissy Twombly (Jason Davis), Benjamin Twombly (Linda Cavin); 10 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her siblings: Virginia Lentz, Ellie Lentz, Doug Lentz, and Susan Nissan (Richard).
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Ben, Jim and Thomas.
Services are planned for 11 a.m. Friday, December 1, 2023, at Chapel Oaks Funeral Home, Highland, with Pastor Rich Lehmkuhl officiating. Interment will follow at Iowa Point Cemetery, north of Highland.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 12 noon until 5 p.m. Thursday.
The family will meet with friends one hour prior to services.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the funeral home, PO Box 33, 66035, to assist the family with expenses.
