Sharon A Wachel age 73 was born to her eternal life on September 22, 2022. Sharon was born on November 16, 1948, in Shawano WI to Wilbert E. and Alice A. (Yanke) Wians.
Sharon was a dedicated mother to her daughters and an unabashed champion of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Fall was absolutely Sharon's favorite season! From the falling leaves to the Halloween preparation and the pumpkins on porches to the arrival of mummy hotdogs, black cat cookies and cheap pizzas! Her annual drive around the area to see the fall colors was something that "renewed her soul." Christmas was no joke in Sharon's home. Her generosity overfloweth (literally) into the living room she truly gave Santa a run for his money. Possibly her favorite part of the gift giving was ensuring that she could see ALL the gifts being opened and photographing them for posterity.
Sharon worked for Shopko for 25 years where she travelled to open new stores. She eventually got her insurance license and found a career at Prudential Insurance where she worked as an agent and then a marketing assistant for Al Adler. She became his "Brett Farve" leaving and coming back multiple times until her retirement at the age of 72. Her experience in customer service led to many long-lasting friendships.
Weekends for Sharon were reserved for her grandchildren. One of the best parts of the weekend was the French toast that Grandma made, though she herself didn't like it. Sharon's French toast was the best ever according to the grandchildren-Sharon knew it was the best because it was made with love. Sandwich creation was another of her master talents.
Sharon's reading chair was always full of grandchildren with whom she shared the reading of all types of books! Adventures to Ripon Good Cookies, fall leaf looking, tours to see the Christmas lights, rummage sales (even if it WAS really a party and not a sale), playing cards, board games and doing puzzles all worked together to make the perfect weekend!
Sharon will be so greatly missed by her daughters Julie (Brad) Squires, Janet (Rob Spain) Reimer, Katie (Jamie) Meyers; her grandchildren: Danielle (Tim), Thomas, Mitchell, Brandon, Anna, Lindsey, Noah, Will, Madeline, Grace, Luke, and great grandchildren: Isabel, Evelyn, Harper, Robert, and Owen. In addition, her siblings Steve (Sue) Wians, Rick (Julie) Wians and Schila DeCoursin, mom's forever friend will also greatly miss her chats, laughs and love.
Sharon is preceded in death by her parents Wilbert and Alice, her daughter Jennifer, brother Harlan and granddaughter Angela.
The family extends a special note of gratitude to the staff at Oakridge Gardens and to Moments Hospice.
A funeral service for Sharon will be held at 11:00am on October 7, 2022, at Faith Lutheran Church, 601 E Glendale Ave, Appleton. Friends and family may gather at the church from 9:00am until the start of the service. Sharon will be laid to rest at a later date at Highland Memorial Park in Appleton.
