Sharon Kay West, 83, passed away on September 13, 2025 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg. She was born to Carl and Alberta (Schnider) Albert on June 17, 1942 in Fremont, OH. Sharon was a graduate of Whitney High School as a member of the class of 1960. She would go on to meet her future husband, Robert West, and they would be married on March 20, 1965. Together Sharon and Robert would raise 3 children together and celebrate 60 years of marriage.
Sharon served as a bank teller in her younger years and also owned a candy store, Kandy Korner, in Port Clinton, OH. She was a talented and praised baker and cook, something her husband can attest to. With her talents she helped bless many newlyweds when she helped as a caterer for weddings, specifically providing them with delicious cakes for their special day. Another passion of Sharon’s was traveling, Robert and her spent ten years as full time RVers, seeing the country and spending time together. In addition to traveling she found joy in camping and was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Oak Harbor. Sharon will be remembered fondly for being close to her family and her presence will be missed by all.
Sharon is survived by her husband, Robert West; children, Randy (Heather) West, Cindy (Ed) Dixon, and Vicki West; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; siblings, Judy (Darrel) Querin, Pam (Rich) Atchinson, Diane Albert, and Carl Albert. Preceding Sharon in death are her parents.
A Celebration of Life for Sharon will be held on September 19, 2025 at the United Steelworkers Local 1-346 located at 2910 Consaul St, in Toledo, OH from 12pm – 4pm. Memorial contributions to Sharon can be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
