Sharon Wise, affectionately known as "Nonnie," peacefully transitioned on December 6, 2025. Born on September 2, 1968, in
Lewes, Delaware, Sharon spent her early childhood in Millsboro, lovingly raised by her father, Wallace Wise Sr., and mother, Beatrice Justice. In the 1980s, she moved to Dover with her mother, stepfather Wilbur Justice, and brother Wallace Jr. "WAWA", later graduating from Caesar Rodney High School in 1986.
Despite living in Dover, Sharon's heart always led her back to Dagsboro, where she spent countless days with her beloved grandmother, Minnie Fidderman. It was there that she developed her well-known habits of keeping a spotless house and fussing at anyone who didn't clean behind themselves although everyone who knew her understood she rarely gave anyone the chance to clean up. Wherever Nonnie went, she was going to clean, she was going to finish before you started, and she was going to talk about it afterward. It was woven into her personality and became one of her most humorous and cherished traits.
Sharon lived a life defined by resilience and independence. She underwent many surgeries at a young age yet never allowed her disability to shape her identity. She was known for her abilities her strength, her caregiving spirit, and her fierce loyalty. She refused to drive yet could navigate others from Delaware to Philadelphia with ease, keeping anyone she accompanied pointed in the right direction. In many ways, she did the same in life, guiding and protecting those around her.
From childhood into adulthood, Sharon naturally stepped into the roles of mother, protector, disciplinarian, and friend. Serving as a second mother to her younger brother, she was affectionately called "Nonnie" because he could not pronounce "Sharon." It was a name that grew into a symbol of who she was to so many. Her nurturing and protective nature made her a pillar in her family, a reflection of her mother Beatrice and grandmother Minnie whose spirit she carried forward.
Sharon found joy in routine and family. Whether she was cleaning her home, on her daily phone calls to her mother and grandmother, watching her soap operas, dancing, or spending time with loved ones, she embraced life with humor, devotion, and warmth. She loved a good time, was often the life of the party, and brought energy and laughter wherever she went. On November 21, 2025, Sharon dedicated her life back to Christ, a moment that brought peace, clarity, and spiritual renewal.
She is preceded in death by her father, Wallace Wise Sr.; her paternal grandparents, James and Mary Wise; and her maternal grandparents, Randolph and Minnie Fidderman.
Sharon leaves to cherish her memory her loving mother and stepfather, Beatrice and Wilbur Justice; her devoted siblings, Wallace Wise (Donna), Beau Justice (Joan), Kim Justice (Sheea), and Marcus Hall; her cherished niece and nephew, Akira Wise and Wanya Wise, and her adored great-niece, Morgan Wise. She is also remembered with love by her longtime friend Erwin Hall
and his two sons, her bonus brother of over 30 years, Marki Dixon, and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends who will forever hold her in their hearts.
Sharon "Nonnie" Wise will be remembered for her laughter, her warmth, her resilience, her protective spirit, her love of a clean home, dancing, and her deep devotion to family and faith. Her legacy of love and strength will continue to live on in every heart she touched.
