Sharon Wolf Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Westgor Funeral Home - Neenah on Feb. 8, 2025.

Sharon F. (Muetzel) Wolf earned her angel wings on Friday, February 7, 2025, smiling as she flew to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, after fighting her mental demons and B-cell lymphoma for the last 8 years, at the age of 82. She was born June 27, 1942 in Carroll, Iowa to the late Raymond Muetzel and Loretta (Langfitt) Muetzel Lein. She married the love of her life, Jerry W. Wolf on May 4, 1963. He preceded her in death on May 18, 2011.
Sharon grew up in Janesville, WI where she met her husband, Jerry, and lifelong friends, Ingrid (Lowack) Hegg and Nancy (Buggs) Mendenhall Stone.
She went to Whitewater College for 2 ½ years. After she married Jerry, she worked as an optical dispenser for the Eye, Ear, Nose and Throat Clinic of Appleton. She became a full-time mother, moving to Neenah, WI in 1968. Sharon was an assistant and teacher's aide for day care and the Neenah school system. She worked in retail during the late 70s and 80s. Sharon had her first breakdown in 1986. After recovering, she worked at daycare centers and offered in-home babysitting through the 1990s. She retired in 2001 after caring for the Darkow family in their home.
She enjoyed life with Jerry, taking long walks and going to lunch at several local restaurants, until he passed away.
Sharon collected Madame Alexander Dolls and eagle figurines. She belonged to the Madame Alexander Doll club as well as two local doll clubs for many years and made many friends. She joined the Red Hatters in 2000 and was a hospital volunteer at Theda Clark through the 70s into the 90s, when she became a lifetime member.
Sharon did latch hooking, counted cross stitching, photography, scrapbooking, needlepointing, crewel, and silk flower arranging. She made her son's wedding flowers, as well as her nieces' and friends'. She was most proud of selling her latch hook designs of the treble cleft and musical notes to the Bernat Yarn Company. They were sold throughout the USA and Canada. She loved taking pictures and was very proud of one entitled "Sleeping Angels" which was published by the International Library of Photography.
Sharon joined Peace Lutheran Church of Neenah in January 2012. She became active in the church, donating her time and talent to the Bazaar Committee, LWML, vacation bible school, and Treasures in the Trunk. She loved her church family, especially Linda Bradley, who introduced her into the church.
There was nothing Sharon loved more than her immediate family, talking to her daughter, Cindy every day, and visiting every weekend possible with her son, Tim, and daughter-in-law, Mary. Recently Tim would accompany her on her Tuesday outings to grocery shop and to the Post Office. She enjoyed every minute she could spend with her grandsons, Ryan and Steven; watching their sports when they were young and just going out to eat and hang out. As they grew older, she cherished the texts she received from them and their wives. Ryan married Shyann Seng on July 17, 2020 and Steven married Sarah Leverance on October 23, 2021.
Besides her husband, Jerry, Sharon was preceded in death by her father Raymond Muetzel; stepmother, Margaret Muetzel; stepsister, Carol Richardson; mother, Loretta Muetzel Lein; sisters: Gloria Muetzel and Darlene Nelson, sisters-in-law: Norma Kopplin, Katie Wolf, Shirley Wolf and Donna Kaliska; brothers-in-law: Alexander "Bud" Wolf; Joseph Earl Wolf; Loren Nelson; Paul Kaliska; and Robert Kopplin.
Sharon is survived by her children: Cindy Wolf and Tim (Mary) Wolf; grandsons: Ryan (Shyann) Wolf and Steven (Sarah) Wolf; great-grandchildren: Eastyn, and two on the way; brothers: Joe (Suzee) Muetzel and Jerry (Barb) Muetzel; as well as by many nephews, nieces, and other relatives and friends, neighbors and acquaintances.
A special thanks to all the rides given to Sharon by Mary Christensen, Mary Banes, Linda Bradley, and Marlene Weisenhahn to get her to Door County to shop, Red Hat events, church, doctor appointments, and to special neighbors Ron and Melissa Schinke for their help with lawn work and snow blowing, and with watching over her. Thanks, also, to Jeff Mullen for his visits and yummy candy treats.
A funeral service will be held for Sharon at 12:00 P.M. on Wednesday, February 12, 2025 at Peace Lutheran Church, 1228 S. Park Ave., Neenah. Visitation will be held at church from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service. Sharon will be laid to rest alongside Jerry at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Sharon's name for cancer research and mental illness.

My heart goes out to you all. Aunt Sharon was a truly wonderful soul. Full of kindness, generosity and caring. I felt her love every time I visited with her, talked to her on the phone, watched her talk with Lily & Elliott, and ESPECIALLY when I'd open my birthday card from her each year and confetti would sprinkle out of it! What a joy it was to know her. While I won't be able to join you Wednesday, just know a huge hug goes out to you from me. Sending love and hoping you find joy and laughter in your memories of Sharon.
