Sharonda Coleman-Singleton Obituary
Principal Jimmy Huskey said she was so dedicated she was at work before 8 a.m. and typically didn't leave until 8 p.m.
"She had a big smile," Huskey said. "Her No. 1 concern was always the students. She made a difference in the lives of children. She cannot be replaced here at this school."
The mother of three had run track herself as a student at South Carolina State University, helping lead her team to a conference championship.

A great lady who modeled professionalism in all she did. A lady who genuinely cared for kids and worked to give it her all. She will be greatly missed by all of us who knew her. I pray that the family of this exceptional woman, Mrs. Singleton, find it in their hearts to let go of the pain of this tragedy. She is in a better place now, that we all hope to end up in. She's with the man who created her above the clouds, and she is sitting next to him with a grin on her face, and watching down on all of us- especially her loving family. Don't think of her with tears on your face, think of her with smiles on your lips--I'm sure she would want that.
Stay safe, and remember she is in a safer place now.

I did not know you but I was hurt nonetheless when I learned of your death and that of the eight others on last Wednesday. I prayed for all nine of you. Sharonda Singleton's family. I know "Jesus Christ" will comfort her son Christopher and family members. I did not know Sharonda are the other Brothers and Sisters of Mother Emanuel AME Church. I felt as I did, and my heart has wept for their family, friends and church members.

You have given your dearest family member. They will have eternal life. I think that is important. My family have watched and been so proud of your family: Faith and trust in Christ. There has been so much swirling around it is so hard to keep up with what is right. Y'all know what is right.
I lived in Charleston 5 years ago in Ansonborough. I know your beautiful Church Family. Although I do not know you personally, please know your extended Charleston family Loves and is praying for you.
Together there will be change. Your best example will set the stage for HUGE change. Please know, we love you and hate you are having to deal with this. No family should deal with this.
Your loss is bringing the whole country together, but no family should have to endure that to make change.
