Sharron M. Cannella, 47, a much-loved member of Millsboro, DE, sadly left our world on July 3, 2024, after a long battle with cancer. Sharron was born in Coatesville, PA, on February 28, 1977. She graduated from Millersville University with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Sciences and Criminology.
Beginning her professional career as a corrections officer for the Lancaster County Prisons system, Sharron served for two years. She then joined the York City Police Department as a Patrol Officer working with the York County Drug Task Force and undertook various undercover assignments over four years. Her career further developed when she joined the Federal Bureau of Investigations as a Special Agent. Specializing in Fraud, Crime Scene Investigations, and Crimes Against Children, Sharron evolved into an Instructor and Team Leader for the Bureau's Evidence and Crime Scene Response Team.
During the time of "Operation Iraqi Freedom" and "Operation Enduring Freedom," she was deployed to Iraq to assist in ongoing investigations and train the Iraqi Police. Her outstanding work and invaluable service earned her The United States Army Commander's award. Also, during her tenure with the Bureau, she was awarded the United States Attorney's Office Award for Excellence in Healthcare Fraud Investigation.
After ten years with the Bureau, Sharron transitioned to the private sector of Healthcare Fraud Investigations, finally settling in at Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield as a Senior Investigator.
Above all, Sharron was a mother, daughter, sister, and aunt. A loving parent to her beautiful 8-year-old daughter, Ahlanna, she was a daughter to Theresa Steffek, a sister to Jennifer Randisi and to her brothers, Brett and John Werner and was preceded in death by her sister Nicole Werner. Loving aunt to her nieces Teras, Cecilia, and her nephew Jack, she was a pillar in her family members' lives. A member of the Bayshore Community Church, Sharron acted as a beacon of light and hope in her community, touching the lives of all she met.
