Shawn Bechert

Shawn Phillip Bechert, 49 of Franklin, passed away early Tuesday morning, September 24, 2024. He was born on February 10, 1975 in Franklin, Indiana to John Phillip Bechert, Jr. and Brenda (Rothwell) Lennis. Shawn is survived by his father, John Bechert, Jr. (Marie) and mother, Brenda Lennis (Michael); children, Kaitlin Thieke (Shawn), Brooke Mikel (Dylan), Cora Jean Bechert and Bailey Bechert; grandchildren, Weston, Tinzleigh and Everleigh; brothers, Christopher Bechert (Mandy) and Matthew Bechert and niece and nephews, Jake, Luke and Kylie. He was a 1992 graduate of Franklin Community High School. Shawn served four years with the United States Army National Guard. Shawn was a licensed pipefitter with Sprinkler Fitters Local Union No. 669. He attended Mt. Gilead Church. Shawn was an avid softball player and was an outdoorsman, enjoying fishing and hunting. A Celebration of Shawn's life will be held on Friday, September 27th at 2:00 p.m. at Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 North Morton Street, (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin with Visitation on Friday, September 27th from 12:00 p.m. to time of service at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
