Pikeville- Shawn Phillip Bronner, 41, passed away on Sunday, May 18, 2025. Shawn was the beloved son of Deborah Matthews Bronner and Conrad Bronner.
He grew up in Goldsboro and attended and graduated from Eastern Wayne High School. After high school, Shawn entered the business of car sales and he dedicated much of his adult life to helping others find reliable transportation. Within the past year he changed his career and his life, and began his journey as a youth care worker for United Methodist Children's Home, and quickly found an incredible extended family with them.
Anyone who knew or met Shawn, instantly loved him. Whether those friendships started in childhood, on a soccer field, or as an adult, he was loved by all, and was always the life of the party. Shawn will be deeply missed by his loving family and a wide circle of friends. Our hearts hurt now that he is no longer here, but we will always carry his memory and larger than life persona with us. We know that he didn't want to leave, but will try and take comfort that he is safe in the arms of his parents again, as well as our Heavenly Father.
The family will receive friends for a time of visitation on Sunday, May 25, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home. A service to honor Shawn's life will be held in the chapel at 4:00 p.m. with Pastor Bill Rose officiating the service. In honoring Shawn, please dress casual for the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family asked for donations to be made to The Methodist Home for Children at mhfc.org/give or send to MHC, 1041 Washington Street, Raleigh, NC 27605.
Services are entrusted to Seymour Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
