Shawn Michael Erbert,

49, of Wichita, KS, passed away peacefully and surrounded by loved ones on November 2nd, 2025, at Wesley Medical Center. Shawn was born on August 19th , 1976, in Wichita, Kansas to Greg Erbert and Kristi Logue. He graduated from Mulvane High School in 1995 and continued his education at Cowley County Community College. He found his professional passion when he was hired by one of his best friends to help at his mixed martial arts (MMA) gym. He worked at the gym for many years, handling many various roles (assisted in fighter training, worked as a fight promoter/manager, worked the corners at competitions, etc.). He felt very fortunate to be able to help train so many high-level athletes and fighters, including several who made it all the way to the professional ranks. Shawn was his happiest when he was building relationships with people and making memories. If you have spent some time with Shawn, there is no doubt that you have a "Shawn" story to tell! He also took pride in knowing EVERYONE. You could not go anywhere without Shawn running into several people he knew, who he of course had to say hello to. Shawn will be remembered for his unique ability to remain likeable thru his orneriness, and also for his kindness, humor, and huge heart! He is survived by his parents, Greg / Cathy Erbert and Steve / Kristi Logue; his fiancé, Jamie Hartness; his brothers, Eric and Darrin Erbert; and many loving children, grandchildren, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 14th, 2025, at 1:30 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Derby, KS. In lieu of flowers, and to recognize Shawn's love for animals, donations may be made to the "Wichita Pug Rescue" in Shawn's memory. Checks can be mailed to 1252 NW Liberty Ln, Benton, KS 67017.
