Shawn Good

Shawn Good, beloved father, stepfather, grandfather, and friend, passed away surrounded by the love of his family on Friday, December 5, 2025, in Sterling, IL.
He was born on October 22, 1964, in Dixon, IL, to Garth and Patricia (Adams) Good.
Shawn was a kind-hearted man who would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. His generosity, warmth, and easy sense of humor made him someone people naturally gravitated toward.
Shawn's greatest joy in life was being a father. His daughter, Samantha Good, was the light of his world. Their bond was deep, loving, and filled with pride - something Shawn cherished every single day. Shawn was also an extraordinary stepfather, raising Cassey McStoots and Samantha O'Connell as his own. He offered them unwavering love, guidance, and support, and he played a powerful, irreplaceable role in their lives. To them, Shawn was more than a stepfather - he was a true dad in every way that mattered.
A lover of the outdoors, Shawn found peace and happiness camping at the Elks Page Park campground. He treasured family time, whether sitting by the fire, enjoying good company, or taking his grandchildren on joyful golf cart rides that always ended in laughter. He was also a proud Chicago Bears fan, and he loved cheering them on during games, especially when surrounded by friends and family. Above all, Shawn adored being "Papa." His pride and joy were his grandchildren: Ayden Underhile, McKenna Krug, Xoe Siebel, and Liam Siebel. He created countless memories with them - moments full of fun, adventure, and love that will forever live in their hearts.
Shawn's legacy is one of kindness, loyalty, and unconditional love. He leaves behind family and friends who will always feel the impact of his generous spirit and the warmth he brought into their lives. Shawn is survived by his three daughters, Samantha Good, Cassey (Jason) McStoots, Samantha (Brian) O'Connell; three brothers, Randy (Brenda) Good, Jeff (Teresa) Good, Lorne (Connie) Sanders; son-in-law, Anthony Siebel; and his four grandchildren, whom he adored, Ayden Underhile, McKenna Krug, Xoe Siebel, Liam Siebel.
Shawn was preceded in death by his parents; fiancé & love of his life, Theresa Gugerty; and one brother, Eric Chambers.
A Celebration of Life Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm on Friday, December 12, 2025, at Preston-Schilling Funeral Home in Dixon. Cremation Rites have been accorded.
Memorials may be directed to Rock River Hospice and Home in Sterling.
