Shawn Michael Hick

Shawn Michael Hick, at the age of 54, passed away on August 11, 2025. He was the beloved son of Mary M. Hick and the late Donald D. Hick. Shawn was preceded in death by his wife of 17 years, Cari L. Hick. Shawn is survived by his mother Mary M. Hick, sister Shannon E. Marsh, son John J. Hick, niece Brianna A. Ingraham and two great nephews Andrew D. Marsh and Aiden R. Ingraham.

Shawn had many professions throughout his life. He of course will always be a Marine but his second most loved was being a Supervisor for Stormwater in Norfolk for 18 years where he made many lifelong friends. Shawn was a patriot and Catholic who loved his family and country.

Shawn was often spending his spare time hiking, fishing, gaming, playing with his dogs, rooting for OU with Cari and roasting marshmallows with Jack.

Shawn's journey on this earth was one marked by love, compassion, and unwavering faith in God. His passing has left a void in the hearts of his family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by him. We ask that you remember him for the joy with which he lived his life. He deeply loved his family. He loved the outdoors, his dogs and spending time with his friends but most of all his time with his wife and son.

The celebration of life service to honor the life of Shawn Michael Hick will be held on Friday, August 29, 2025 from 5:00 – 7:00 at H.D. Oliver located at 1501 Colonial Ave. Norfolk, VA 23517. Thank you to everyone for your thoughts and prayers for the Hick family.
