Shawn was a firefighter with many roles in the fire service. He was Deputy Fire Marshal with the Minnetonka Fire Department, a testing evaluator with the Minnesota Fire Service Certification Board, second Vice President with the Minnesota chapter of the International Association of Fire Investigators (MNIAAI), a former Team Supervisor with the Hennepin County Fire Investigations Team, and a former Fire Inspector for the Excelsior Fire District.
He was a devoted Catholic, the world's best husband, an excellent brother, son, nephew and cousin, proud father and loving grandfather.
Shawn enjoyed playing pickleball, scuba diving, motorcycle riding, camping, and most of all, spending time with his two grandsons who brough him so much joy.
Shawn is survived by his loving family and many friends who feel extraordinarily blessed to have been a part of his life.
A funeral mass will be held at the Cathedral of Saint Paul on Wednesday, March 18, at 11:00 am, with visitation starting at 10am. And a memorial service will be held at the Hopkins Center for the Arts on Thursday, March 19, at 1:00 pm.

My sincere condolences to Shawn's family on his passing. He was a great friend and colleague of mine for many years and I will miss him greatly. His selfless service provided not only to the public but to the MNIAAI and Minnesota Fire Service at large will be sorely missed. May God surround you with his loving embrace during this time of sorrow.
