Barbara Ann Hansen

Barbara Ann Hansen (75), born February 25, 1950, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, passed away at her Hopkins home on February 9, 2026.

In her early 20s, Barbara lived in Mexico City for four years, serving as director of an ESL school. During that time, she became fluent in Spanish and delighted in speaking it with anyone she met - even perfect strangers. She spent much of her professional life in the hearing aid industry, a career that afforded her opportunities for international travel. She concluded her working years as an assistant to the president, CEO of the Buhler Corporation.

Barbara will be remembered for her warmth, adventurous spirit, love of the Spanish language, and passionate connection with others.

She is preceded in death by her parents: James ("Jimmy") and Irene Hansen. She is survived by her sister, Karen (Jerry) Hallberg and a large extended family.

A memorial service for Barbara will be held on May 15th at 11 a.m. with visitation 1 hour prior, at Washburn McReavy Hopkins Funeral Chapel located at 1400 Mainstreet, Hopkins, MN 55343.
