Charles 'Rick' Hansen

Charlie, Rick, Pa, Papa-Charlie

Passed away February 24th, 2026 at home in Cedar Fort Utah.

Born October 20,1949 in Salt Lake City to Roy and Ada Hansen as the youngest boy and baby brother to Hal, Janis, and Barbara. Strong, adventurous, and a bit mischievous. Example, after always being complimented on his beautiful lashes as a child he took matters into his own hands and cut those beautiful lashes off! That same determination and courageous spirit would follow him throughout his life as he went on to high school as a Granite High Farmer. He formed many friendships in school that lasted his lifetime.

Rick was smart and savvy , a jack of all trades before the luxury of internet, he was the "Go to Guy". A 'mans man' if you will. He could always help those in need using his knowledge and skills. He was an avid fisherman and excelled in all outdoor activities, including many household repairs and improvements. Always finding more ways to customize his residences, autos, and Harley's.

He served in the military, 101st Airbourne Special Forces and 1457 engineers group, National guard.

He had a ranch in southern Utah and owned horses that he loved.

He owned and operated multiple businesses; Dixie Auto Dealer Shop in St. George and Alpine Auto Accessories in Orem. Although they were his nephews; Todd and Tracy had many business endeavors together and were all best of friends while Rick spent his many years throughout the automotive industry. Including auto sales, Service Manager for Gus Paulos Chevrolet, and even a 7 year stint in the motorcycle world running Bubba's trailers.

Rick met and married Terri Koch, and was joined by a son Troy. Later divorced.

Later, met and married Bambi Fausett, June 29, 1990 and became a father to a son, Jason, and two daughters, Melanie, and ManDee. Later joined by a daughter-in-law Jonilin, and son-in-law Dave. And of course all of the grandbabes (Papa Charlie was born); Dylan, Savannah, Izzie, Elijah, Charles John, Cort, Heaven and Brock.

Together Rick and Bambi created a life of love and adventure. For several years they ran 'Desert Skies' RV in Mesquite Nevada, they resided in the central California for a short time, and grew their friend circle exponentially. Rick took on the task of learning how to BBQ central coast style and started a small catering business after. All while also venturing into construction and construction management.

Whether it was the open road on their Harleys, boating in Powell, or cruising the PCH from California to Oregon, Bambi was always by his side. Although they swore they 'never would', they adopted their "four legged son"….'Whiskey' from an orphaned litter of Red heeler puppies (the runt). Whiskey was always with them and Rick was heartbroken when Whiskey passed away. We know that reunion was beautiful.

Bambi was always Ricks' biggest supporter and selflessly took care of him until the end. Her heroic measures and love were unfathomable to most.

If someone asks us right now how we're doing we might respond in true Rick style "Not worth a shit but thanks for asking!"

And in true Rick form we will do our best to "Cowboy Up".

He will be missed.
