Conrad Dushawn Johnson was born in Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City on March 1, 21979 to Robin "Michelle" Wallace and the late Conrad Edward Johnson. "Shawn" was a lover of sports, art and music. He had a spiritual connection to reggae music, specifically Bob Marley whom he studied fervently. During the earlier parts of his adulthood he passionately pursued a career in the music industry as a hip-hop artist recording in professional studios, creating numerous demos and singles, and performing live on many occasions. Among his many talents were his artistic abilities. He could sketch, create marketing logos and cartoon draw elegantly. Early life began in the church where he attended Catholic school in Fort Lee, New Jersey. From the beginning The Word of God was deeply etched in his heart and soul. His high school days were filled with organized basketball at which he also excelled. Near the end of his life he originated and maintained a sports web page on Facebook, aptly titled "Jeter tha dog". He named the site after his favorite baseball player: Derek Jeter. His articles were unique to his persona and the artwork was personally created. The site offered news and updates, along with his points of view with regards to baseball, basketball, and football. The teams and players. He offered his insight with a street edge-focusing on players not commonly exhibited in the mainstream media. Shawn is survived by his son Iziah Dushawn Johnson ("Ziggy"). I keep coming to this page since his service... I did not realize how hard this was going to be for me. I keep reading and crying as I reminisce about our encounters together. When I first meet Shawn he was quiet at first but that didn't last long. His smile, his laugh and our last conversation together, is what I will hold close to my heart.
Rest easy bro.❤

41 years ago, I was blessed with giving birth to you. I nurtured and raised you into manhood. Throughout those years, you and your brothers was all that made me who I am. You gave me joy and laughter and sometimes heartache and pain. I rejoiced when you made me proud which was often. Sometimes the simple phrases you would say would bring a smile to my heart because I know you listened. I would kiss the boo boos when you hurt yourself. Today was a very hard day for me. I had to say goodbye to my baby boy. I would give anything to have one more chance to kiss your boo boo but I know that God has done that for me. He revealed to me that he has you and he will take care of you. Please stand beside our father and watch over us until we see each other again. Rest in Peace Son. I will shine a light on my heart for you always.

Shawn was an awesome brother in law. He helped Derell and I move once and we had A LOT of stuff and I didn't have to lift a finger. Literally. Shawn, Derell, and Devin did everything with Shawn leading the way. He had worked for a moving company before so it was a piece of cake for him. Shawn lived with Derell and me for about four months in 2017. Andrew was about six weeks old when Shawn moved out. Shawn would leave for work around 6:30am. And almost everyday I would be up with Andrew sitting in the recliner in the living room. And everyday I would ask him if Andrew's crying woke him up overnight and he would say no (I knew he was lying though. Lol) He was a good person. He kept it real. He is loved. He is missed.

My brother had a sense of humor that was electric. I miss sitting up with him and watching classic movies and listening to him impersonate the actors. He can cheer you up like non other. One of Shawn's favorite movies was Blood in and Blood out. He used to impersonate the actors in the movie and I would bust a gut laughing. My brother was also an avid sports fan which was also very fun engaging him in conversation. I miss him every day. I love you forever dear brother! Until we see each other again "It's money in the bank cruzittttoooo!" I love you Shawn! See you later.

Shawn was a great guy to work with. So happy, so upbeat! He was fun to be around. He loved talking about his son and the Buffalo Bills. The conversation always went back to his son and my sons, and how we raise them. Shawn lit up talking about kids and how to raise them the right way. Shawn was a great guy. Kind, curious, always upbeat. A lot of people around Chantilly knew Shawn, everyone I know who knew him is tremendously sad about his premature death.
The world would be better with more guys like Shawn. I'm sad I didn't get to know him longer, but I'm glad I knew him at all.

To Shawn: my son loves the 1980's Eagles hat you got for me!
