Shawn was born on October 9, 1983 in
Lafayette, LA to Ronald Clay and Dawn Ned. From a young age, he displayed a vibrant spirit, a kind heart, and a natural ability to bring joy to those around him. Whether it was his infectious laughter. his caring nature, or his ability to turn any moment into a cherished memory, he was a gift to all who had the privilege of knowing him.
He attended South Louisiana Community College, where he excelled academically and earned his GED. A hardworking and ambitious individual, he pursued a career in the restaurant industry, serving as an Assistant Manager at Waffle House. His dedication and passion left a lasting impact on his colleagues and the countless customers he met. He was known for his kindness, warm personality, and the unforgettable conversations he shared-words that many will carry with them for a lifetime. He also had a true gift in the kitchen, cooking food with such care and flavor that people would say they couldn't get it anywhere else. His meals were as comforting as his presence. He was deeply committed to his work and to the people around him, always striving to make a difference and leave a positive mark on the world.He found joy in the simple pleasures of life-whether it was relaxing with a good smoke, cheering on his beloved Dallas Cowboys, or just spending time surrounded by family.
More than anything. Shawn was devoted to his family and friends. He cherished his relationships and was a source of strength, laughter, and unwavering support to those who needed him.
He is survived by his mother Dawn Ned, brothers Aaron Vick and Quentin "Jamal" Ned and De'Shawn Ned, Aunts Karen Parker, Clementine Chaisson, Gloria Guillory, Betty Sampay, Myra Celestine, Brenda Thomas, Paula Trailer Jessica Parker and Shirley Clay uncles Jerry Parker, Gradney George, and Willie Clay, godchildren Tyvin Guillory, Davierra Thibodeaux, Jayonna Chatman, Zariah Champs, and Je'Mauri Parker and his extended family by heart: Waylon Chatman, Corenskii Narcisse, E'Osha Champs, Cornelius and Raven Lewis, Tracy, Ann, Chantelle,& Troynette Portalis, Raylon Narcisse, Mikara Broussard, La'Keidra Parker, and Davion Thibodeaux--who were more than friends & cousins, but true brothers and sisters in his life. He also leaves behind a larger host of family and friends who loved him dearly.
He was preceded in death by Father Ronald Clay, maternal grandparents Frances Roberts & Harry Parker, paternal grandparents Mary Clay & Clifton Yancy Aunts Rose Carmouche, Cecelia Brown, Tilly Joubert, Harriet Parker, Lovina"Bonnie" Taylor, Dorothy Clay, Uncles Charles "Chuckii" Parker, Clifford George, Harold Parker Sr., Alfred"Ricky" Parker, Author Clay, Stanley Clay, Godparents Debra Carmouche, whom we take comfort in knowing welcomed him with open arms. Though the pain of his loss is overwhelming, we find solace in the memories he left behind. His spirit will live on in every shared story, every echo of laughter, and every act of love inspired by his example. We will forever carry him in our hearts.
