Shawn Denise White, 65, of Lake Stevens, Washington, passed away peacefully on October 27, 2025 after courageously battling multiple stage four cancers for 22 years. She was finally free of pain and reunited with her beloved husband, brother, and parents, and surrounded by those who loved her.
She was born in Erie, Pennsylvania on June 2, 1960, to Charlene Ruth and Leonard Louis Pamula. Shawn was the favorite daughter (and only daughter) among four children-Lenny, who precedes her in death, Danny, and David. She embraced life with her well meaning protective brothers, finding joy in their shared stories, and mischief.
On October 26, 1979 Shawn married the love of her life, James Rhode White. Together they shared 46 years of marriage filled with many challenges, but through the good, the bad, the happy, the hard they always chose each other. They enjoyed reading scriptures together, golfing, Sunday game nights with thinly sliced apples, and savoring the many delicious desserts he loved to make. His unexpected passing weighed heavily on her heart. She missed him profoundly and found solace in keeping his picture close by, a constant reminder of the life and love they shared.
Shawn and James raised their two children in Wyoming and Washington, where they built a life centered on faith, family, and service. She spent the last year and a half living with her daughter, son-in-law, and ten grandchildren, who brought her joy and comfort in her final days.
Shawn was known for her radiant smile and her ability to make friends wherever she went. Her warmth, humor, and compassion touched countless lives. She made a lasting
difference in the lives of others through her generosity-donating both her time and financial blessings to those in need. Shawn also volunteered at her local food bank, where her fun loving nature and laughter led to two lifelong friendships.
She loved teaching-whether it was young children as a para educator or adults in her gospel doctrine classes. She approached every lesson with patience and love. She knew the gospel deeply and knew her Savior intimately.
Shawn was determined and brave and a spirit that refused to surrender. Though she lived with pain for many years, her strength and courage never wavered. She was strong-willed yet endlessly kind and appreciative of every gesture of love and time shared with her. She loved her children and cherished her grandchildren even more.
She leaves behind her children, James Robert White, Camelyn Elizabeth Sant (Clifton), 14 grandchildren, her brothers, nieces and nephews, and many who called her their friend.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 1, at 11:00 a.m., for her close family and friends.
Shawn will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, teacher, and friend-beautiful inside and out, whose faith, generosity, loyalty, and light will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her.
