Shayna Angel Valdez, 36, was born on February 12, 1987, and went home to be with Jesus surrounded by her loving family, on February 6, 2024, after a short illness. Shayna was humble but her presence was big. She impacted so many people with her personality and giving nature. She was never pessimistic and took obstacles head on despite her circumstances. She had an infectious laugh, had the best hugs, and loved singing and dancing. Most of all, she loved her daughters and God! Shayna’s favorite Bible verse was Isaiah 41:10 “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Shayna knew and felt God’s love and was not afraid. She loved the Lord and believed in his promises of eternal life where she is currently basking in the glory of heaven.
Shayna is preceded in death by her mom Sandra Valdez, paternal grandmother Edna Valdez, uncles Nel Martinez and Jose S. Martinez Jr and father of Nyree, Darryl Padilla.
Shayna is survived by her two beautiful daughters who she loved with all of her heart, Nyree Padilla and EzMae Martinez, her parents George and Yvette Valdez of Alcalde, sisters Candyce Valencia and brother-in-law Conrad of Albuquerque, Kristin Valdez and Valerie Valdez (Lucas) of Alcalde, Brianna Valdez (Fabian) of Espanola, brothers Lucas Gomez (Kristina) and Jacob Gomez of El Rancho and George Valdez of Alcalde, nephew Cedryc Valencia of Albuquerque, nieces Ceryne Valencia of Albuquerque, and Ariyah Gomez of El Rancho, stepdad David Gomez of El Rancho, paternal grandfather Luis Valdez of Espanola, and maternal grandparents Jose and Angie Martinez of Chimayo, many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Special thanks to Jeremy Tomaz for your companionship and kindness, for making her laugh, and for your presence these last few months.
Funeral Service will be at 10:00 am on Monday, February 19, 2024, at the Lighthouse of Chimayo, NM, (599 NM-76 Santa Cruz, NM 87567).
