Joseph “Joe” Angelo Chavez – 34 a resident of Espanola passed away Sunday, October 26, 2025. Joe had a love for music, playing his guitar for his family, and always had a joke to crack to make you laugh and smile. He enjoyed playing Zombies with his big brother Chris, spending time with his mom (always asking her for pancakes), hanging out and talking to his sister-in-law and nieces. Joe enjoyed hand fishing in Vallecitos, New Mexico where he was raised with his parents and brothers.
Joe was preceded in death by his big brothers; Robert Jr. and Adolfo “Mr. Wolf” Chavez. Grandmothers; Amy Chavez, Margarita Baca, and Adelina Baca. Great grandparent, Benino and Rachael Chavez; Aunts, Cherly Chavez and Leona Padilla; Uncle, Max Padilla; Cousins Thomas Martinez, Caleb Rivera and Carl “Lil West” Padilla.
Joe is survived by his parents, Robert and Connie Chavez, brother Chris Chavez wife Christina Chavez. Sons, Little Joe and Anthony Chavez. Mother of his sons, Victoria Sanchez. Grandparents, Leo and Berlina Padilla. Aunts, April Padilla (Norman) Bonnie and Vangie Chavez. Uncles, Carl, Leo Jr., Angelo Padilla, and Steve. Great aunts, Tillie and Charlotte. Nieces and nephews, Isabella, Selena, Rose, Zoey, Angelica, Josh, Destiny, Jonothan, and Charity. Many aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
