Sheila Zeringue Buquet, 75, passed away on Friday, December 5, 2025 at 2:50pm surrounded by her loving family. Sheila was a native and resident of Houma, LA.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Wednesday, December 10, 2025 at Chauvin Funeral Home from 9:00am until service time. Liturgy of the Word will follow at Chauvin Funeral Home for 11:00am. Burial will take place in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery #2.
Sheila is survived by her loving family her children; Grace Bourg (Chad), Ronnie Buquet (Kristy), Toni Armstrong (Damon), Gerard Buquet (Amy), Jude Buquet (LaKaja); grandchildren, Sylvia (Aaron), Maddison (Andrew), Savanna, Andrea, Angelle, Noah, DJ, Zoe, Tucker, Lilly, Allie, Parker, Bailey; great grandchildren, Camille, Penelope, Bella; siblings, Loretta Duplantis, Susan Trahan, Grace Yesso, Gerard Zeringue, and Candy Marcel; other treasured and loving family, Zeke Marcel and Jillian Marcel; Joyce Luke, Stella LeBoeuf, Burma Mason, Paula Buquet, Earl Buquet, and Barry Buquet.
Sheila is preceded in passing by her loving husband of fifty-one years, John Buquet Jr.; parents, Raymond and Grace Lirette Zeringue; brother, Raymond Zeringue Jr.; her husbands parents, John Buquet Sr., and Annette Carrere Buquet; angel grandson, Kagan John Bourg; sister-in-law, Barbara Leger.
Sheila centered her life around God and family and she was a mother figure to many. She believed in the power of prayer . She carried her cross and never lost faith along her journey.
For all who loved and cared for her the family sends their heartfelt gratitude.
