Sheila Jean Cabe, 75, of Franklin, widow of the late Billy G. Cabe, Sr., died Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at Etowah Landing Care and Nursing in Rome.
Born on September 8, 1949, in Taylorsville, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late Walter Culberson, and the late J. Agnes Evans Culberson. Sheila's warmth and kindness touched all who knew her throughout her life. Her heart was always fullest when she was surrounded by her family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her home was a hub of laughter, storytelling, and the delicious aromas of shared meals. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by children, Billy Cabe, Jr., Mark Cabe, Christina Cabe, and Norma Jean Cabe, and brothers, Ed Culberson, Ralph Culberson, and Robert Culberson.
Survivors include her daughters, Stacey Merchant (Martin), and Katherine Cabe; sisters, Delores Brown, Diane Campbell, Brenda Graham, and Darlene Evans; grandchildren, Ray Jones, Andrew Jones (Taryn), Jason Long (Sierra), Matthew Merchant (Mary Sue), Dustin Stewart (Terrina), Desirae Lopez (Jonathan), and Nevaeh Wilson; great-grandchildren, Gunner Stewart, Ezra Lopez, Sophia Jones, Savannah Jones, Greyson Jones, Lincoln Jones, Jase Long, Ember Long, Ellie Savage, and Ashiah Savage; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 11, 2024, at Hillcrest Chapel with Pastor Terry Calhoun officiating. Interment will follow in Welcome All Road Cemetery in Atlanta. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, one hour prior to the service.
