Sheila Ivadel Cotter, of Mountain Home, Arkansas, passed away on September 18, 2025, at the age of 76. Born on March 15, 1949, in Mountain Home, she was the daughter of Delmar and Anna Lucille Hodges Waire. Ivadel married Forrest Duncan Cotter in October 1971 in their hometown, where they built a loving family.
A devoted member of the Christian Church of Mountain Home, Ivadel embraced community and faith throughout her life. She had a passion for NASCAR, with a particular fondness for watching Dale Earnhardt. Ivadel's love for adventure was evident in her enthusiasm for traveling and camping, and she especially relished Friday night dinners out.
Known for her unique companionship with animals-often caring for deer and squirrels-Ivadel had a playful spirit that extended to activities such as bowling and card games in her younger years. Her home served as the family's gathering place, a testament to her role as the “glue” that held loved ones together during holidays and special events.
Ivadel is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Vanessa (Joey) Peglar of Mountain Home, AR; her sister, Beverly (Fred) Gillespie of Ava, MO; and her eight grandchildren, Austin (Jessie) Cotter, Kaleb Cotter, Kytalin Cotter, Khloe Cotter, Easton (Johanna) Peglar, Riley Peglar, Jace Peglar, and Jaxson Peglar. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, particularly Michele, who provided steadfast care for Ivadel in her later years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her son, Kevin Wayne Cotter.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, September 26, 2025, at the Christian Church of Mountain Home, with Pastor Eric Dwyer officiating. Burial will follow at Fluty Cemetery in Gamaliel, Arkansas, where her grandsons will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Christian Church of Mountain Home or the Mountain Home Christian Academy.
