Sheila V. Hegar, age 96, of Glen Mills, PA, formerly of Upper Darby, PA passed away on August 12, 2023. Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the beloved daughter of Joseph B. and Delia A. (nee Conway) Hegar.
Sheila graduated from West Catholic High School for Girls. She attended Misericordia School of Nursing and then went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Pennsylvania. She dedicated her life to caring for her patients, family, and friends. Besides her life's work, one of her greatest gifts was being an amazing Aunt. Sheila was also an avid gardener and in recent years she had been knitting scarves and hats for our troops. She was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend who will be missed dearly.
Sheila was the loving aunt of Kathleen McGrath, Mary Cleary, Christina Billiot, Andrew Manidis, Joseph Manidis, and Paul Manidis. She is also survived by many grand nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Funeral Mass 11:30 AM on Saturday, August 19, 2023 at St. Laurence Church, 8245 West Chester Pike, Upper Darby, PA 19082. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery, Yeadon, PA.
