On, June 12, 2025, God called Sheila home to be with Him, and her loved ones that have gone on before her. Sheila was born on August 26, 1959, to the late Norma "Ruby" Chambers Lee and Albert "Babe" Lee. She quickly became a daddy's girl and according to her mother, "You're just like your daddy."
She spent time on this earth trying to make people happy and make them laugh. She was good at giving advice but rarely used that advice in her own life. But she managed to be ok only by the grace of God. Her favorite things to do was cook, crochet, knit and write stories.
As a little girl, she attended Mt. Olive Baptist Church and sung on their Junior Choir with her cousins. Sheila was baptized at an early age and became a member of Mourners Valley Baptist Church (now Morning Valley). She would say that "God is Awesome" and it was He and his loving grace that got her through the years. She joined the adult choir, and they would sing a song entitled "I Found Him in Time." Thank God that she found Him in time because you can rest assured that she is with Him right now and she is happy.
Sheila attended and graduated (Class of 1977), from Buckingham County Public Schools, where she met a lifelong friend, Arleen Brown Bigelow. They joined the choir together and later became members of the gospel group, "Brother Jones and The Gospel Trio," which included Nannie Anderson and "Soul" Jones. She went on to further her education at Southside Virginia Community College (SVCC) in Keysville, VA; Virginia Seminary & College in Lynchburg, VA; Friendship College in Rock Hill, SC and Faith International Bible College in Richmond, VA. She spent a year in New Jersey, became homesick, and returned in 1984. She worked at C & F Christian Bookstore and was later employed at Virginia Radio in Charlottesville; later to become VEC Supply. She worked there off and on until 2013.
She leaves to cherish her memory: One son, Cedric Lee; one brother, Albert Lee Jr.; a sister-in-law, who was like a sister, Valerie Londree Lee; one sister, Linda Trent; a special nephew, Albert Lee III and his friend Lalita Hearns; a nephew, Deante and four nieces: Tiera, Ebony, Ayzha and Lineeyah. Two great nephews, Jayceon and Amir, one great niece, Savannah (who she thought of as grandchildren), one uncle, Houston Lee, Jr. (Elsie); one aunt: Annie Lee, two great aunts, Matilda Allen and Grace Chambers. Two special cousins, Iris Hill and Steve (Darlene) Lee, who were always there for her. A host of relatives and friends.
