Sheila St. Clair Obituary

With broken hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Sheila Dianne St. Clair, who left this world on February 27, 2026, surrounded by her four children.

Born August 29, 1952 in Washington D.C., daughter of Frank and Mary Jancar. She was preceded in death by her parents, and two siblings, Renee and Frank Jr. Sheila grew up in Cabin John, Maryland, and then raised her four children on a small farm in Germantown, Maryland. She then retired to live with her daughter in Mount Airy, Maryland.

She had a career as a writer and editor for the federal government and later started a floral business where she created beautiful wedding flowers. The highlights of her floral career were helping to decorate the White House for Christmas and designing the florals for her daughter's weddings. She loved gardening, crocheting, painting, the arts, plants, holidays, seashells, and being creative. She was an inspiration to so many people throughout her life because of her creativity and imagination.

But, most of all, she loved her children and grandchildren, who affectionately called her Baba. She prioritized the happiness of her children and grandchildren by taking them on wonderful vacations, summer trips to the beach, visiting museums, antiquing and camping. She constantly planned special activities to give her children and grandchildren wonderful memories and adventures, always ensuring they had something wonderful to look forward to.

Sheila is survived by her four children who will forever miss their mom and best friend; Melissa and husband, Brandon Jordan; Megan and husband, Jared Wells; Kyle St. Clair and fiancé, Reggie Nubine Jr.; and, Trevor St. Clair and girlfriend, Lina McCary, as well as seven grandchildren; Bradley, Ryan and Casey Jordan; Piper, Marlee, Teagan and Caleb Wells.

There will never be another like her. We will miss her more than words can express.

A memorial gathering will be held for friends and family at Keeney and Basford Funeral Homes, P.A. 106 E Church Street, Frederick, Maryland 21701 on March 10, 2026 from 4:00pm-7:00pm.

As flowers brought Sheila great joy, we welcome you to bring flowers to her memorial gathering to surround her with the beauty she loved.
