Warren St. Clair Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Superior Funeral Home McLemore Chapel on Feb. 12, 2026.
Warren G St.Clair was born on January 21, 1943 in McCarley, MS to Albert and Adelia St.Clair. He was preceeded in death by both parents, 4 sisters and 5 brothers.

He accepted the Lord as his savior at an early age.

He was educated in McCarley but after the death of his mother he was relocated to Memphis, TN under the care of his sister and brother-in-law Minnie Mae and Tommie Lee Covington, where he attended Carver High School.

One memorable adventure of his life is when, after high school, he and two friends ran away to California on a series of freight trains to seek a better life. When that didn't work out as planned, he came back to Memphis and got a job working at lobes Laundry where he met Shirley Ann Burnett. They were married in 1965. To this union three children were born: Vernice, Maurice and Natasha.

Warren was a good husband/father and provided well for his family. He also believed in the closeness of family and that was evident by the numerous out of town trips taken yearly during his lifetime to visit his siblings, other family members and, close friends.

Warren retired from Chicago Bridge and Iron (CBI) in Memphis where he worked as a welder. He retired again from Builders Transportation where he worked as a mechanic. After retirement, when not seen on his porch watching and talking to neighbors, he would be out visiting (checking on) other relatives and friends in the city or hanging out at the Orange Mound Community Center socializing or doing a small workout.

Warren transitioned from this life on earth on Sunday, February 8, 2026.

He leaves to mourn his passing two daughters: Vernice White and Natasha Lewis of Chattanooga, TN; his only son Maurice (Christina) St.Clair of Memphis, TN; Sisters: Gladys Ruth Garrett of Springfield Ohio, Ruby Lee Russell-Greer of Winona, MS one brother; Nathaniel (Lillie) St.Clair Sr of Memphis, TN; Ten grandchildren: Isaiah R St.Clair, Ti'Aria St.Clair, Karyn White, Quinn Lewis, Ta'lor St.Clair, Kendra White, Ja'nae Lewis, Israel St.Clair, Martez Tate and Christian Nix; seven great-grand children: Essence, Eden, Jynesis, Gianna, Navaeh, Geleah and Jessiah; the mother of his children, Shirley St.Clair-Stewart, Sister-in-law Geraldine (Terealius) Williams and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
