Sheila Faye Staples, 66, of Island, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, April 11, 2024 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. She was born September 10, 1957 in Evansville, Indiana to the late Fred Richard Curtis and Alice Mae Baize. She worked as a CNA for many years before becoming disabled. She was of the Catholic faith. If Sheila could be described in one word, it would be eccentric. She was a free spirit who loved living life and was always the life of the party. Her smile would light up the room. Sheila loved her children with everything she had.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Larry Wayne Williams and Kenneth Ray Staples; son, Jerimiah Jason Stewart; and a brother, Rick Curtis.
Survivors include three daughters, Salena (Joe) Barnard, Michelle (Kevin) Smith and Victoria (Shaun) Bialek; two sons, Wayne (Tiffany) Williams and J.R. Williams; grandchildren, Tristan Buckman, Samantha (Nick) Durham, Caleb (Sydney) Hicks, Lars Hicks, Kye Hicks, Keely DeArmond, Jaylee Williams, Xavier Williams, Courtney Hollander, Hadlee Williams, Carter Williams, Piper Williams, and Maddyn Williams.; her significant other, Mark Dame; and siblings, Rocky Baize, Justin Patterson, Bert Crawford, Bridget Spencer, Mark Holder, and Brian Holder.
Visitation is from 2 to 6 p.m. on Monday, April 15, 2024 at James H. Davis Funeral Home and Crematory.
