Sheila Terry (Alcombright) Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 19, 2025.
In Loving Memory of Sheila L. Terry

It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of the rock of our family and the joy of our lives. Sheila L. Terry (Alcombright), 68, of East Greenbush, NY, left us peacefully surrounded by her loving family on September 14, 2025. Her unwavering love and vibrant spirit touched all who knew her.

Sheila was many things to many people - a devoted mother and Mimi, a cherished partner, a treasured daughter and sister, and a sincere and loyal friend. She was beautiful, kind, and fiercely independent-a rare treasure whose presence left an immediate mark. She was truly one-of-a- kind, making her loved by all. She made friendship effortless and was selfless in her relationships and care for others. Sheila brought fun and joy to every occasion, she loved live music, traveling, cooking/baking and adventures with family and friends.

Her life was defined by her deep love for her family. Every action she took was grounded in this love, and her children and grandchildren were her greatest joys and the driving force behind her courageous four-year battle with breast cancer. She cherished her role as a mother and Mimi, finding fulfillment in nurturing her beautiful daughters: Andrea Morris, Lauren Farnan (Christopher), and Mackenzie Reckner (Michael). Her grandchildren -Delana, Rylan, Everly, Mack, and Madden-were the lights of her life. Sheila's love extended to her partner, Eric McShane, and her sister Kathryun Cutler. Sheila was predeceased in death by her mother Iris her father Tony DiCanio, biological father Robert Terry, and most recently her brother Dale Terry, whom she cared for throughout his life.

Though our hearts are broken, Sheila leaves behind a legacy of unselfish love, loyalty, strength, and unwavering support. Her spirit, kindness, and deep love will live on in all of us, especially her family and children, who will continue to carry these qualities forward.

We invite you to join us to celebrate Sheila's life and honor her legacy on October 10, 2025, at S&S Brewery in Nassau, NY from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM.

As we remember Sheila, we invite you to honor her memory in a way that reflects her generous spirit and love for others. In lieu of flowers, your thoughtful contribution to an organization near and dear to her heart: ToLife.org (Delmar, NY) will help continue the legacy of care and compassion that Sheila demonstrated throughout her life.

To Sheila´s Daughters, I was so sad to hear about your Mom´s passing. Your Mother was one of the nicest people I worked with at NYS DOH. She was always so happy and caring towards everyone. She was always so interested in happy events in the lives of her co-workers. The world has lost a terrific lady but Heaven has gained a true angel. RIP dear Sheila.

I remember the beautiful Sheila from my days at the NYS-PSC. What a joy it was to know Sheila. At that time she seemed to pregnant much of the time, but she always had a ready smile and really brought a certain radiance to the humdrum workday.
Please accept my condolences on the passing of Sheila, she leaves the world a little sadder and releases her joy in heaven.

Sheila was a beautiful beacon of light! The moment I met her in my boutique many years ago, I felt like I knew her for years. She had a captivating spirit. Watching her fight her battle of cancer with grace and perseverance was beyond inspiring. Her love and kindness always would shine through no matter how hard she was struggling. She was an angel on this earth and I have no doubt she is a bright beautiful angel shining in her heavenly home. May God be with her family and all those that loved her. She will be missed and remembered forever.....
With much love, Wendy Ritz (Owner of W Boutique)

I will forever remember our laughing fit at Lowe´s getting plumbing items. We had no idea what we were looking for. The associate was cracking up too. You will be missed. RIP.
