Shelby Jean Bennett Moore

O B I T U A R Y
Shelby Jean Bennett Moore of Greensburg, Kentucky, daughter of the late Samuel Newton Bennett and Rhoda Lena Hunt Bennett, was born on Sunday, January 3, 1937 in Taylor County and departed this life on Thursday, February 20, 2025 at Norton Hospital in Louisville. She was 88 years, 1 month, and 17 days of age.
She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Liberty Separate Baptist Church. She had her own in-home childcare service which she did for many years. Her favorite place to be, other than at home with her family, was at the Smokey Mountains.
She was united in marriage to William C. "Bill" Moore on June 15, 1957, who preceded her in death on May 3, 2011.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law: Kathy and Eugene Janes of Russell Springs, Pam and Tony Compton of Columbia; a son and daughter-in-law: Troy and Jenni Moore of Greensburg; seven grandchildren: Jeremy and Jo Janes, Robbie and Amanda Janes, Benjamin and Jessica Compton, TC and Chasity Moore, Shelby and Christian Goodin, Sam Moore, Grant Karnes; eight great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren; a sister-in-law: Lillian Moore; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Besides her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her siblings: Opal Wright, Beulah Quinn, Frances Knopp, Mae Bell, Lawrence Hunt.

The funeral services for Shelby Jean Bennett Moore, will be conducted at 1 P.M., Central Time, Sunday, February 23, 2025, at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Liberty Separate Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Todd Davis and Bro. Stephen Stilts officiating.
Visitation is requested from 4:30 P.M. until 8 P.M., Central Time, Saturday, at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, and after 7 A.M., Central Time, Sunday until time of the service.
The family has requested that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Gideon Bible Fund which can be made at the funeral home.
