Shelby Gene Davis, widower of Joy Ann Smith and the son of the late Casey and Gladys Thomas Davis was born in Primrose, Kentucky on July 13, 1938 and departed this life at his home in Primrose, Kentucky on December 13, 2023 at the age of 85 years and 5 months. He was a carpenter by trade and attended the New Springs Methodist Church. Shelby was an avid hunter, outdoorsman, a jack of all trades and very much a family man.
Shelby is survived by three children, two sons, Adam Davis (Francis) of Booneville, KY, Aaron Davis (Mary Jane Brewer), and daughter, Alicia Liesegang (Conard), both of Beattyville, KY; eight grandchildren, Derick, Bethany, and Patrick Davis, Eli Gibson, Meghan and Logan Williams, and Bretyn and Shelby Davis; 14 great grandchildren; three sisters, Maryetta Spencer and Ginger Yaksich both of Dayton, Ohio and Winna Mae Daugherty of Fort Myers, FL; special sister-in-law, Charlotte Davis of Beattyville, KY life long friend, Ola Creech of Beattyville; Kentucky and a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to his wife and parents, Shelby was preceded in death by two brothers, Bruce and Kearney Davis; and two grandchildren, Jesse and Brittney Davis.
