Shelby Jean Farmer, age 79, departed this life on May 14, 2025, in Hiawassee, Georgia. Shelby was born on January 28, 1946, in McCaysville, Georgia, to the late Edward Stepp and Rosell Patterson Stepp.

Shelby was a beloved wife, devoted mother, and cherished grandmother. She is survived by her husband, Wayne Farmer; her daughter, Lori (Derrick) Moody; son, Kevin (Desiree) Cannon; her grandchildren, Jalen (Christian) Conner, Kenda Moody, Carlee Moody Kasen Cannon, Krissa (Jacob) Bazemore, Kayla (Jared) Talley, Bryce Cornelius, and Zoe (Chris) Dillard; her great-grand children Trevin and Tinsley Talley and Haven Conner; as well as her sisters, Michelle (Billy) Queen and Margaret Porter. Shelby's legacy will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, who knew her warmth and kindness.

We thank God for her life, her prayers, and the precious memories she left behind. Her influence lives on in the faith she nurtured in us and the generations that follow. Rest in peace, Nannie.

A proud business owner, Shelby operated a consignment shop in Clayton, GA, that became a beloved fixture in the community. Her entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to her craft reflected her strong character and unyielding work ethic.

A graveside service to be held at Upper Hightower Baptist Church in Hiawassee, GA on Saturday, May 17th at 11:00 a.m.
