Shelby Liston Tippit, 76, of Foxworth, MS passed away Tuesday August 26, 2025 at his residence.

Visitation will be Thursday evening at Dexter Pentecostal Church from 5:00 PM until services there Friday at 3:00 PM. Burial will follow at the Double T Cemetery in Foxworth. Rev. Jerry Terrell will officiate under the direction of Hartman Jones Funeral Home of McComb.

Pallbearers will be Quitman Logue, Shaun Borne, Zachery Hibley, Latrell Slocum, Dwight Pace, and Brad Terrell.

Mr. Tippit was born March 29, 1949 in Tylertown, MS to the late Frank Liston and Effie Prine Tippit.

Shelby was, above all, a family man. He married Gearldine when they were 17, and only parted 53 years later when she died. His greatest honor was his children, who he taught humility, generosity, and the value of hard work. He owned and operated Tippit Construction for forty pluse years. Shelby worked hard his whole life to build and maintain his company, retiring at 72 when his health declined. He was willing to give the shirt off his back for anyone in need. Shelby was an intelligent man, a great and witty storyteller with an endless sense of humor, and a loving husband and father upon whom his family could always depend.

He was preceded in death by his father; his wife Geraldine Terrell Tippit; one daughter Rhonda Roberts; one granddaughter Brittany Roddy; and one brother Edwin Tippit.

He is survived by his daughter Regina Teague of Foxworth; his son Randall Tippit and his wife Stacy of Foxworth; grandchildren Jordan Teague, Olivia Teague, Brandi Roddy, Brooke Roddy, Whittney Adams, Kaitlyn Gomez, Hannah McKenzie and Dwayne McKenzie; 11 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; two sisters Janella Pace and Darlene Pounds; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
