Sheldon Lee Bennett

Mr. Sheldon Lee Bennett, age 92, formerly of Union, passed away Thursday, December 8, 2022 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Bennett was born in Rich Square, NC, on May 19, 1930 a son of the late Hardy Bennett and Eva Blowe Bennett. He was a graduate of Berry College and later Georgia Tech where he earned an Engineering Degree. Mr. Bennett retired as an Engineer with Milliken & Co. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy. Mr. Bennett was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Spartanburg.
Surviving are a son, David Bennett and wife Susan of Seneca; a daughter, Shannon McGhee and husband Roger of New Hampshire; two grandchildren, Elisha Kinsey and husband Chase and David Bennett, Jr. and wife Megan; three great-grandchildren, Georgia, Bennett, and Caleb; a brother, Bill Bennett of Little River; a sister, Olga Gause of Columbia; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by a daughter, Heather Bennett and a sister, Nina Spell.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
