Sheldon Kass

Sheldon Kass of Somerset, New Jersey passed away peacefully at home on Saturday November 16 at age 88. He was born on February 27, 1936 in Brooklyn NY, the younger of two sons of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Kass (z''l). A graduate of the New York University School of Engineering, Sheldon began his career at Exxon International and remained there until his retirement in 1997. He is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years Phyllis, his children Lawrence (Rena) Kass and Bonnie (Sam) Ramer and his five grandsons Jacob Ramer, Richard Kass, Joseph Kass, Jonathan Ramer, and Daniel Kass. He was an avid fan of the Giants and Yankees, an excellent chess player, and a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. We will all miss his warmth, wit and insight. Funeral services will be 12:30pm Monday at Temple Sholom in Bridgewater. Interment will follow at Cedar Park Cemetery in Paramus. Arrangements by Bruce C. Vanarsdale Funeral Home, Someville.
