Sheldon Edward Webster, of Florissant, MO, passed away Saturday, August 16, 2025 at the age of 65. Beloved husband of Donna Webster; cherished son of the late Robert and Leta Webster; son-in-law of Paul and Freda Parrett; devoted father of Amanda Webster, Samantha (Brian) Kennedy, Andrew (LeAnna Kern) Webster, Steven (Jackie Cimarusti) Webster, Matthew (Veronica Garcia) Webster, Tyler Webster and the late Mallory Webster; loving grandfather of Benjamin, Malcolm and Ophelia; dear brother of Bob Webster, Scott Webster, Carrie Christopher, Beth Webster and Jennifer Webster; brother-in-law of Laurie (Tom) Smith, Scott (Allison) Parrett, Rebecca Parrett; beloved uncle and great-uncle.
Sheldon Webster graduated from McCluer North High School in 1978 and went on to earn his bachelor’s degree with honors from the University of Missouri–St. Louis in 1985. He devoted over 30 years of his life to teaching and coaching, becoming a highly respected track and field and cross-country coach. Known to many simply as “Coach,” Sheldon’s passion for athletics and education touched countless students and athletes throughout his career.
Sheldon’s dedication and leadership led to multiple state championship titles as head coach at McCluer North. His excellence in coaching was recognized with awards from both the Missouri Track & Cross Country Coaches Association (MTCCCA) and the U.S. Track & Cross Country Coaches Association (USTCCCA) in 2014 and 2015. In 2015, he was inducted into the MTCCCA Hall of Fame, a testament to his impact and legacy in the sport he loved.
An active runner himself, Sheldon completed numerous races, including a 50k in honor of his 50th birthday. He also enjoyed golfing and was a devoted cat lover, especially to his beloved cats, Lucy and the late Conan.
Sheldon was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Memorials may be made in Sheldon's name to American Heart Association.
