Sheldon L. Wilkinson, age 84, of Forest Lake, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 20, 2025.
Sheldon was born on May 15, 1941, in Duluth, Minnesota, the son of Clifford and Judith (Stockdale Weber) Wilkinson. A proud member of the Merchant Marines, Sheldon spent many years sailing and took great pride in his service. Later in life, he worked at Grand Casino Mille Lacs, where he was known for servicing the machines with dedication and care.
He had a passion for antiquing, especially in the pursuit of vintage slot machines—his favorite find. In 2013, as his health began to decline, Sheldon made Birchwood Arbors his home, where he received care and companionship until his passing.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his son, Jason Wilkinson; granddaughter, Heather Bagley; and infant sister, Judy.
Sheldon is survived by his children, Lorraine (Jeff) Windorski, June Wilkinson, Steven (Carrie) Wilkinson, and Jessie (Rusty) Boyd; along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Colleen (Pete) Greiskalns, Sheryl (Dave) Nixon, and Sheryn (Jeff) Navarro; and many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
A celebration to honor Sheldon’s life will be planned at a later date.
