Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend went to be with her Heavenly Father on March 28, 2025. She passed peacefully surrounded by her family.
Shelia was born to Dee and June Newman in Tremonton, Utah on January 6, 1944.
She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and held many callings in her life time.
She met and married Bruce Challis on March 26, 1978. They raised six kids and two grandsons together.
Shelia's life was spent nurturing those around her. Her house was always open to anyone that needed a place to stay, that included many stray cats. She had a tremendous love for animals, her recent love is a little black Yorkie named Jett.
Shelia is survived by her husband Bruce Challis, children Brett Farrer of Rigby, Damon (Raunda) Challis of Idaho Falls, Shelli (David) Prather of Rexburg, Brian (Amy) Farrer of Twin Falls, Heather Valadez of Idaho Falls, Israel (Taylor) Challis of Rexburg and Joey (Daran) Challis of Rexburg. She is also survived by her sisters Jolene (Garth) Sutton and Clara (Mik) Allred.
Shelia is preceded by her parents, her three older sisters and a daughter.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, April 1, 2025 at the Sutton Cemetery at 2:00 pm.
