Shelia S. Flythe

Shelia S. Flythe of Winton, NC, gained her Heavenly wings on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at Nash General Hospital in Rocky Mount, NC. She was born on January 15, 1951, to Alma Althea Pope Simmons and the late Clayton Lee Simmons, Sr., in Hertford County, NC. She retired from the Hertford County Public School System as a Teacher Assistant. She leaves to cherish her fond memories; three sons, William Flythe and David Flythe both of Winton, NC and Michael Flythe (Melissa) of Universal City, TX; one daughter, Sherri Flythe of Winton, NC; mother, Alma Althea Pope Simmons of Hampton, VA; two brothers, Dennis Simmons (Ophelia) of Murfreesboro, NC and Greg Simmons (Judy) of Rocky Mount, NC; five grandchildren, Davita Flythe, Brian Flythe (Cheyenne), Ashley Thomas (Mike), Omarionne Butler and Jerome Tann; nine great-grandchildren; two aunts, Christine Clark of NJ and Willie Mae Delk of MD; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family member and friends.
