Shelia Gail Wilson, age 66, of Christiana, TN passed away on April 3, 2024 after being diagnosed with stage 4 terminal cancer in late November 2023. She was at home surrounded by loved ones who cared deeply for her.
Shelia was born on December 22, 1957 to her parents Robert and Annie Kephart of Mt. Juliet, TN. She attended Mt. Juliet high school.
On November 27, 1974 Shelia married the love of her life, Jerry Wilson. They settled down in Smyrna, TN and were married for 37 years before Jerry passed away on March 3, 2011. They had 3 daughters and 11 grandchildren.
Shelia embraced being a wife, mother, homemaker, and caregiver to many children she nannied over the years. Many of which still call her "Nanny" to this day. She took pride in being "the mom" kids would call when they needed something. Momma Wilson would chauffer, drop off needed items at school, feed, and provide comfort to those who needed it. She took great care of her husband for 6 years as he battled a debilitating autoimmune disease. She stayed strong and provided physical and emotional support to Jerry during such a difficult time. It was often said that she missed her calling as a nurse.
Shelia's favorite thing to do was to spoil and take care of her grandkids. She was beyond proud of each and every one of them and bragged on them to every stranger who would listen. Grams, as the grandkids would call her, loved game days, competitions, performances, birthday parties, and holiday get togethers. She also loved to travel and make memories with her family, especially at the beach because of the peace that it brought to her and her family.
She was predeceased by her husband Jerry Wilson, her father Robert Kephart, her mother Annie Kephart, and her companion, Thomas Brewer. She is survived by the following loved ones who will miss her immensely: her daughter and son-in-law Jeni and Richard Sanders of Christiana, TN, her daughter Megan Mullen of Hazel Green, AL, her grandchildren from Christiana, TN, Kelton Sanders, Layken Sanders, Chaston Sanders, and Paisley Sanders, her grandchild Abigail Rowland of Fayetteville, TN, her grandchildren from Hazel Green, AL, Landon Donnell, Insley Donnell, and Gavin Donnell, her sister and brother-in-law, Sherrie and Bobby Preston of Mt. Juliet, TN, her nephews and niece from Mt. Juliet, TN, Casey, Noah, and Annesa Preston, her cousin and close friend Linda Carver (Dan), her close friends Tammy and Ken Hampton of Murfreesboro, TN, and Lauren Voyles of Murfreesboro, TN, and her extended family and friends.
Shelia was a believer in Jesus, and one of her favorite scriptures was Psalm 91.
