Shelley Berkstresser Obituary
Shelley Denise Berkstresser (The Texas Tornado), 60, of Shalimar, Florida, passed away June 9, 2024 in Shalimar. She was born September 4, 1963 in San Antonio, Texas to parents, Charles and Betty Cudworth.
Shelley graduated from Gregory – Portland High School in 1981 and thereafter, worked for Texas Pipe & Supply. Later, she enjoyed assisting at Sacred Heart in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida, as well as, Tommy Bahama. Shelley ultimately retired from Southwest Airlines.
During her lifetime, Shelley resided in Round Rock, Texas; Georgetown, Texas; Liberty Hill, Texas; Issaquah, Washington; Spokane, Washington; and, of course, Santa Rosa Beach, and Shalimar, Florida.
Shelley's hobbies and interests involved music, walks on the beach, shopping, and, most of all, hanging with her girlfriends, traveling to Europe,
Her great sense of humor will be missed; known as the Texas Tornado at every job she ever had.
Shelley is survived by her husband, Robert Berkstresser; sons, Casey Lee Gunn and Connor Stewart Gunn (Amanda); stepson, Robert Hamer Berkstresser (Marcail); grandchildren, Caiden, Aspen, and Gatlen; mother, Betty Cudworth; siblings, Toi Suzette Cudworth and Blake Edward Cudworth (Lynette); uncle, Bernard Alfred Pepe; aunt, Charlene Maxwell; nieces, Kelsey Cudworth and Aria Berkstresser; nephew, Jayce Berkstresser; numerous cousins and in-laws; and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Edward Cudworth.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, June 19, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Davis Watkins Funeral Home, 113 Northeast Racetrack Road in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. A graveside service will be at Pensacola Naval Air Station, Barrancas National Cemetery, Pensacola Florida at 1 Cemetery Road around 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 20, 2024. For burial and procession, meet at Davis Watkins Funeral Home on Thursday morning at 8:30 a.m.
Pallbearers are Blake Cudworth, Casey Gunn, and Connor Gunn.
