Shelley Gene Jackson, age 75, passed away on November 6, 2025, at Orlando Medical Center in Florida, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 19, 1949, in Detroit, Michigan, and spent her early years growing up in Pontiac, Michigan. She then moved to Florida in 1981, and there she made her forever home.
Shelley was preceded in death by her parents, Paul Eugene Bradford and Mary Leigh Bradford; her sister, Dianne Marie Rooney; and her husband of 48 years, William Carson Jackson, a proud veteran whom she deeply loved and supported throughout their life together.
She is survived by her children, Amanda Leigh Newberry (Earl), Alayna Marie Jackson, and Devin Carson Jackson; her grandchildren, Nathaniel Blake Newberry (Khasandra) and Jade Skylar Newberry; and her great-grandchildren, Brantley Blake Newberry, Sadie Grace Newberry, and Elsie Kate Newberry. Shelley cherished her family above all else, and each of them carries her love forward.
Shelley attended college and dedicated her life to raising her children and caring for her home. She found joy in simple and meaningful things: tending to her flowers and plants, creating crafts, crocheting, reading, and surrounding herself with angels - both in décor and in the spirit of love she shared with others.
She will be remembered for her warmth and generosity, her thoughtful and loving nature, and her quick wit that could lighten any moment. Shelley had a way of making others feel seen, loved, and understood. Her presence was steady, soft, and strong. A gift to all who knew her.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date, and family and friends will be welcomed to gather in celebration of her life.
The family reflects on her passing with the following prayer:
May you always walk in sunshine and God's love around you flow, for the happiness you gave us, no one will ever know. It broke our hearts to lose you, but you did not go alone, a part of us went with you, the day God called you home. A million times we needed you, a million times we've cried. If love could only have saved you,
you never would have died. The Lord be with you and may you rest in peace.
Shelley was deeply loved, and she will be deeply missed.
