Shelley Rae McCool, 56 of Tipton, passed away on Friday, August 22, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 16, 1968, to her parents, Olion "Ray" McCool and Doris Faye (Luster) McCool.

Shelley graduated from Tri-Central High School in the class of 1987. The majority of Shelley's adult life she worked in the medical field. For many years she worked for Apria Healthcare in office administration. Many folks from Tipton will remember Shelley from the many years she bartended and worked for Quick Cup. One way or another, Shelley was responsible for serving many people in town their favorite drink.

Shelley was often called "Shelley Bean" by those who knew her well. She had a great sense of humor and was known for her witty remarks and playful sarcasm. Her sister sometimes called her "Sheldon" due to Shelley's love for "The Big Bang Theory". Not everyone knew, but Shelley was very creative. She had a passion for writing poetry, was an avid reader, and loved music from many genres. She was a great singer and could often be found singing karaoke with her friends. She also loved going to concerts. Shelley always had music playing, no matter where she was. Coffee was a constant, black with a bunch of sugar. What filled Shelley's heart more than anything were her grandchildren. They were definitely her pride and joy, and she treasured every moment she had with them.

Those left to carry on Shelley's legacy of love are her mother, Doris McCool; children, Caleb M. Brumley (Synna), Delaney R. Buck (Jacob); grandchildren, Lidiya Rayleigh Brumlee, Cash Kenneth Downing, and Baby Rinlee Rayne Buck (due in February). Shelley is also survived by her sister, Mary K. McCool (Greg); nieces & nephews, Karsyn R. McCool, Jacob W. Fowler, Katherine A. Hill (Mike); great nieces & nephews, Hannah Grayce Busby, Stetson James Busby, Avalyn Grace Hill, Ezra Michael Hill; uncle & aunt, Gary & Brenda Hipes, Claude McCool, James and Brenda McCool; goddaughter, Kennedy (Andrew) Cardiff; cousins, Kristyn Marie, David Allen, Melissa Edwards; and special friends, Matt Schmitt and Gary.

Shelley was preceded in death by her father, Ray McCool; grandparents, Jim & Mary Luster; and godson, Korey Penwell.

A funeral service celebrating Shelley's life will be held at 6:00 PM on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at Taylor & Cowan Funeral Home, located at 314 N. Main St. in Tipton with Gary Hipes leading the service. Visitation for family & friends will be held prior to the service from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the funeral home.
