Scott-Morris Funeral HomeShellia Ann Lewis, lovingly known as "Momma Shellia," passed from this life September 12, 2025, in Nocona, Texas, at the age of 75. Born on June 6, 1950, in Bowie, Texas to Doyle Atkins Martin and Opal Curnutte, Shellia's spirited and outgoing personality touched the lives of many throughout her journey.
Shellia had a diverse and fulfilling work-life that included her invaluable contributions to the Nocona Boot Factory, her passion for training and caring for horses at Delta Downs Racetrack in Vinton, Louisiana, and her role as a dietary specialist at several nursing homes. Her work was a testament to her nurturing spirit and commitment to serving others. Shellia was an active member of Abundant Life Pentecostal Church, where she enjoyed participating in worship and the ladies’ meetings. She found joy in music, especially gospel and modern praise and worship. Each day began with her cherished routine of reading Psalms 91 and 23, reflecting her devotion to her faith. Many will remember her infectious laugh and her ability to approach life with an unwavering sense of humor. Shellia's faith filled her life: She knew that Jesus had saved her soul and delivered her from addiction, and she lived for him from then on. Her experience of God's grace was at the heart of her ministry in leading worship, telling others about Jesus, and dedicated service through Celebrate Recovery, a program that not only transformed her own life but also allowed her to guide others toward healing.
Shellia is survived by her beloved children: daughter Diedree Williams and her husband Brandon of Hobbs, New Mexico; son Charlie Lewis of Nocona; and daughter Kristina Shellhom of Chico; sister Bridgett Anderson of Nocona, brother Bobby Joe Martin of Nocona, and sister Melinda Anderson of Kaiser, Missouri, and two nephews Steven Van Pelt and Michael Van Pelt. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Breana Drummond, Tristan Lewis, Isaac Williams, Caleb Williams, Abigail Williams, and Easton Lewis. Shellia was also loved by her godson Daniel Wigglesworth and his wife Erin, as well as their children Katlynn, Conner, Willa, Lynlee, Ally, Brylee, and Jacob. Shellia is also survived her two very best friends: Rose Woods and Lee Ann Cervantes, along with a host of other very special friends
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Charlie Lewis, in 2016, her parents, her ex-husband Donnie Moss, her nephew Bobby Joe Martin, Jr., and her sister-in-law Margaret.
