Shelva Jean Ramey, 74 of Whitacre, VA, passed away on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at Blue Ridge Hospice Inpatient Care Center.
Jean was born in 1950 in Winchester VA, the daughter of the late Robert and Hester Ramey. She graduated high school and completed 2 years of college. Jean retired as a salesperson at The Room Store and was a member of Shenandoah Valley Baptist Church. She enjoyed poetry, gardening and cooking. Jean's joy in life was devoting her time to giving and helping others. Jean was the best, mother, grandmother and wife a family could ask for. She will be dearly missed by her family and those who knew her.
She married Kenneth Michael Arnold on June 25, 1988, at Shenandoah Valley Baptist Church.
Jean is survived by her husband, Kenneth, daughter, Stacy Fletcher of Winchester, VA, sons, Michael Fletcher of Winchester, VA, William Fletcher of Inwood, WV and grandchildren, Jesse and Sarah Fletcher.
In addition to her parents, Jean is preceded in death by her sister, Bonnie Jackson and her brother, Terry Ramey.
A visitation will be held for Jean on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at 11am with a service to follow at 12pm held at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel. Entombment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park Mausoleum.
