In Loving Memory
Sheri Wilder Hartman (1951-2024)
Sheri Wilder Hartman, 72, passed away on May 15th, 2024 after a brief illness. She is survived by her daughter, Casey Brownell and son, Clint Hartman as well as her 2 grandchildren.
Sheri was born in Oklahoma City, to Marjorie and Benny Wilder. She spent years living in Oklahoma, Atlanta, Indiana and California. She attended Purdue University obtaining a dual degree in chemistry and biology. She went on to work as a Geochemist, first with the Department of Energy in Oklahoma, then with Union Oil Company in Los Angeles and with TEG Mobile Labs in San Diego.
Sheri was a devoted mother to Casey and Clint giving much of her energy to their joy. She volunteered at their schools, escorted them to sporting practices and games, assisted with homework and ultimately created a safe and loving home for them and their friends to gather and relax in.
Sheri cherished her children, her pet birds and her friendships. Facetiming, calls and texts with Casey, Clint and the grandbabies and visits that always included cribbage games, fruit picking and basketball watching. She enjoyed getting together for meals, Mexican was a favorite, and attending game nights, playing dominoes with her closest friends. She was definitely a competitive spirit.
She was known for being a good and caring friend. She was the friend who would drive you to your doctor appointment just as freely as she would join for lunch. She was always there to help in times of sadness and difficulty. Sheri was really up for it all
Sheri was well known for her cooking. She delighted in preparing tasty and beautifully presented meals for her family and friends. Salads, comfort dishes, desserts and snacks. Sheri took great care in selecting the exact ingredients called for, even if that meant making numerous grocery store stops.
Sheri also enjoyed movies, reading, gaming, music and arts & crafts. She was expressive and creative, singing out loud to a song on repeat or trying her hand at a new style of painting, not to mention her legendary scrapbooking room.
These are just a few small but notable and memorable things that made Sheri a beloved human. We will never forget the love and laughter she brought to our lives. A celebration of life memorial will be held later this year in Oklahoma City.
Love you Mama, always. Xx
