Sherman D. Kelley, 84, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2024. He was born on November 20, 1939, to William and Jessie (Rich) Kelley in Mounds, Illinois.
Sherman proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He graduated from Gideon High School in Missouri. He attended every high school homecoming from 1995 to 2018. He worked and retired from the United States Postal Office after devoting 36 years. He was a Past Master of Daylight Masonic Lodge Post #752. After retirement, he went to Ivy Tech College to learn the Spanish language. He accomplished his bucket list of visiting Mexico and putting his Spanish to the test. He had a passion for classic western series, he found solace and joy in the tales of cowboys. In addition to his love for westerns, Sherman had a profound connection with animals, particularly his cherished dog, his 90-pound mystery dog, Rosie. Above all, Sherman treasured his family. He was a devoted husband, parent, brother, and friend.

Hi Edna: You and Sherm let Al and I dine in your home during our cross country trip. I recall him as lively and engaged with a good sense of humor. I deeply appreciated the hospitality you both showed to us. Please accept my deep and heart felt sorrow for your loss. Michael Cuevas.
