Sherman Stoutmire Jr., born on August 18, 1986, passed away unexpectedly on August 13, 2024, just days before his 38th birthday. Sherman was a beloved son, brother, father, and friend, known for his creativity, charm, and the deep love he held for his family.
He is survived by his parents, Yvette (Roland) Ramsey and Sherman Stoutmire Sr.; his two sisters, Simone Stoutmire and Sasha Stoutmire; and his brother, Shane Stoutmire. Sherman’s greatest pride and joy were his seven children: Nehemiah & Navyon Stoutmire, Naeyelle Lescalleet, Bohdi and Legend Stoutmire, Amiyah, and Isabella Stoutmire.
Sherman was also cherished by a large extended family, including his maternal aunts: Carol Myers (Rochester, PA), Patricia Campbell (Aliquippa, PA), Mary Griffie (Stone Mountain, GA), Allison Jones (Ambridge, PA), and Karen Hardy (Ambridge, PA); and his maternal uncles: George Jones Jr. (Rochester, PA), Douglas (Shanterry) Jones (Missouri City, TX), Keith Jones (Fallston, PA), and Edward Barnett (New Castle, PA). On his father’s side, Sherman is remembered fondly by his paternal aunts: Angela (Felix) Jacobs (Jonesboro, GA) and Levette (Jeremiah) Green (Albany, GA). Additionally, he leaves behind countless cousins who were dear to him, far too many to list individually.
Sherman was blessed with many close friends, including Nathan Burk, Martha Certain, Tammy Troutman, Lindsey Miller, Douglas Shirley, and Nicole Schirtzinger. Each of them held a special place in his life, and their friendship was a source of great joy and support to him.
Sherman’s life, though brief, was filled with moments of joy and laughter. He had a natural ability to make those around him smile and was known for his quick wit and infectious personality. His untapped potential and creative spirit will be missed by all who knew him.
